Manageability – Simple , so long as you’re not crazy.
I like coffee. I’m not a weirdo. I like lattes and flavored blends, and a nice strong cup on a Sunday morning. What I don’t like, though, are coffee recipes that require me to use a mixer or taste like a mushy coffee puffiness. I’m too hung over for that. So, I don’t think I’ll be making Dalgona Coffee from Nikki Eats a second time.
The recipe is simple, I’ll grant that. It’s only like three ingredients, so on the Martha Stewart scale of manageability this is a breeze. Unless, of course, you don’t have an electric mixer, at which point the recipe asks you to mix by hand for 20-40 minutes. Are you nuts?? My arm would fall off. And who the fuck would spend 30 minutes hand-mixing for one cup of coffee? I do have a mixer though, so I saw this through to completion, but I wasn’t very impressed. It honestly starts to fall apart very quickly, and after stirring it tastes kinda like a cold coffee smoothie. Hey maybe that’s your thing. It wasn’t my thing, at all.
Our cat didn’t like it either, and he eats puréed salmon goop.
Ingredients
- 1 Tablespoon of instant coffee
- 1 Tablespoon of brown sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of hot water, or “hawter”
- Milk of choice
- Ice
Instructions
- Place coffee, sugar and water in a larger bowl and mix on high for about 4-5 minutes until the mixture becomes foamy, with peaks. If you do not have a mixer, go buy one. You could hand whisk for 20-30 minutes for the same consistency, but my god you are a crazy person.
- Fill a glass with ice and milk of choice and place your whipped dalgona coffee on top.
- Make sure to stir! You want the dalgona coffee to mix with the milk thoroughly. Albeit, after you take cute pictures.
