The Kitchen is My Playground’s Gingerbread White Russians

Manageability – Real easy, real good.

A typical white Russian only has three ingredients: Kahlua, vodka, cream. And yeah, that’s fine if you’re the Dude. But just add a few holiday spices, change the vodka to vanilla, top with a tiny gingerbread man, and friend you have got a new holiday classic in the form of The Kitchen is my Playground’s Gingerbread White Russians.

And it’s really not hard to make at all. Mix together the vodka with the spices, add the Kahlua and ice, and you’ll probably only have a tiny bit of room left for the cream. If you want to keep the layers, don’t mix the cream until after your pictures. The gingerbread men add a nice touch as well, and you can dunk them in your drink for a tasty addition. Recipe on those coming soon. Although I guess if they’re swimming in vodka they’re more like “gingerbread drunks”.

The Dude abides.

Ingredients

  • 4 T. Kahlua
  • 3 T. milk or half-&-half
  • 1 ½ T. vanilla vodka (I use Smirnoff because they have every flavor)
  • 1/4 tsp. ground ginger (the spice, not a human)
  • 1/4 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • small pinch ground cloves
  • small pinch ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. Place vodka, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg in a cocktail glass; stir until combined.
  2. Add Kahlua and then milk; stir. Add ice.
  3. Garnish with a cinnamon stick or gingerbread cookie, if desired. Trust me, it is desired
